The World Records Authority is proud to officially announce that Thangavel Sanjeevi Raja from Tamil Nadu, India has achieved a new world record for the World’s Lightest Satellite. His creation, known as “Space Man-Sat”, sets a historic benchmark in aerospace engineering, weighing an incredible 51.6 grams (0.0516 kg).

Developed at the Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science in Chennai and officially established on 26 March 2019, this extraordinary feat surpasses the previous record of 64 grams. It demonstrates remarkable technical innovation and cost-effective design — a testament to pioneering dedication in micro-satellite technology.
