In a moment of global recognition, the Município De Vila Do Conde achieved the world record for the Largest Bobbin Lace in Vila Do Conde, Portugal on 2 August 2015. This incredible feat of artistry and dedication was crafted by over 100 devoted “Rendilheiras” — traditional lacemakers — who came together to weave this monumental tribute to their rich cultural legacy. WRA officially recognises this extraordinary achievement as a lasting symbol of Portugal’s celebrated textile heritage and the power of collective craftsmanship.
