Biju was born in Mayyil, near Kannur in northern Kerala, into an ordinary family that knew financial hardship well. In interviews, he has spoken candidly about the early years — a modest brick house, debts that pressed on the family, and the long search for stable work. Like many young men of his generation, the absence of a government job even made the path to marriage difficult.

In 2015 he married Kavitha, who came from neighbouring Karnataka, and together they began building a life around family. It was this very ordinariness — the warmth, humour, and honesty of everyday domestic life — that would soon capture millions of hearts.

In 2020, Biju launched the YouTube channel KL BRO Biju Rithvik, named after his son Rithvik. There were no scripts, no studios, no gimmicks — just real family moments: home-cooked food, small celebrations, playful banter, and the quiet dignity of a close-knit household. Malayalis in Kerala and across the global diaspora saw their own homes reflected on screen, and the channel’s audience began to grow at an extraordinary pace.

The momentum became historic. In March 2024, the channel surpassed CarryMinati to become the Indian YouTuber with the highest number of subscribers. That same year, YouTube India honoured Biju in Delhi with the Ruby Play Button for crossing 50 million subscribers — the first Ruby Creator Award presented to an individual in India, and the first in Kerala. By December 2024, he had surpassed even Cristiano Ronaldo in subscriber count, entering the top tier of creators worldwide.

Today, KL BRO Biju Rithvik stands as the most-subscribed Malayalam individual YouTube channel in the world and was named India’s number one YouTube creator for 2025. With more than 87 million subscribers, over 106 billion lifetime views, and nearly 3,900 videos, Biju’s channel is a landmark in the global export of Malayalam and Indian culture — proof that authenticity, family, and perseverance can reach the entire world.
