Certificate of Record — Longest Drawing by an Individual
📍 Great Wall of China 📅 September 23, 2019 📏 1,014.37 Metres 🎨 Ink on Canvas

Along the ancient stones of the Simatai section of the Great Wall of China — one of humanity’s most enduring monuments — Chinese artist and music producer Guo Feng created something entirely new: a world record. On September 23, 2019, he completed the Longest Drawing by an Individual, an extraordinary ink-on-canvas work stretching an officially verified 1,014.37 metres.

The creation of this record was no single afternoon’s work. Guo Feng dedicated over two months to the project — a sustained, meditative immersion in his craft that required not just artistic skill but extraordinary physical endurance, mental stamina, and an unwavering commitment to a vision. Every metre of canvas demanded focus; every brushstroke was an act of deliberate intention carried out in one of the world’s most awe-inspiring settings.

“The Great Wall was built stroke by stroke, stone by stone. So was this.”

The artwork, titled Yongsheng — meaning “Immortality” — was directly inspired by the Great Wall itself, that ancient symbol of China’s indomitable spirit. A team of official WRA adjudicators was present throughout the record attempt, meticulously verifying all measurements and confirming the final length through precise physical evidence review. The result: 1,014.37 metres of unbroken artistic achievement, certified and official.

Guo Feng’s Yongsheng stands as a testament to the artist’s skill, perseverance, and passion for the arts — a contemporary work of record-breaking scale, created in the shadow of one of the ancient world’s greatest achievements.
