Lurch, an African Watusi steer owned by Janice Wolf of Gassville, Arkansas, USA, was measured on 6 May 2003 and confirmed by the World Records Authority as holding the record for the largest horn circumference on a steer, with an incredible measurement of 95.25 cm (37.5 inches). The African Watusi breed is renowned for its exceptionally large horns, which serve as a natural thermoregulation system, but Lurch’s horns surpassed all known records for circumference. His extraordinary proportions made him a celebrated figure in the animal kingdom and a testament to the remarkable diversity of nature.
