Largest Taekwondo Display
At the iconic National Assembly Grounds in Seoul, South Korea, history was made when 8,212 individuals gathered to perform what would become the World’s Largest Taekwondo Display — a breathtaking achievement officially recognised and certified by the World Records Authority.
Taekwondo is more than a martial art — it is a living symbol of Korea’s cultural identity, discipline, and national pride. For thousands of practitioners to assemble and execute a flawlessly synchronised routine together is an extraordinary feat of coordination, training, and collective will. Every kick, stance, and movement had to be delivered in perfect unison across a sea of more than eight thousand participants spanning the grounds of South Korea’s most historic legislative site.
The display was performed in the lead-up to the inter-Korean summit — a moment of immense political and cultural significance on the Korean peninsula. That this record was achieved at such a historically charged time speaks to the power of sport and martial arts to transcend politics and bring people together under a shared discipline and purpose.
The participants demonstrated unparalleled skill, unity, and precision. WRA officials confirmed that the performance met all international standards for the record, verifying both the participant count and the quality of the synchronised display.
The World Records Authority proudly recognises this magnificent achievement as a powerful testament to global excellence in martial arts. Congratulations to every single individual who contributed to this landmark moment in the history of Taekwondo and of South Korea.
