Tommy – Tallest Steer (Living or Otherwise)
This record has been verified and authenticated as a global benchmark
Living in Massachusetts, USA, this unique example of pure-bred Brown Swiss has made history as the tallest steer ever living or otherwise, reaching heights never seen before. Tommy the steer, owned by Fred Balawender and Laurie Cuevas, measures an incredible 1.87m (6ft 1in) — more than 30 cm taller than the average ‘tall’ steer.
The average height for a Brown Swiss steer oscillates between 142 cm and 154 cm (approximately between 4ft 6in and 5ft 05in), which makes Tommy’s stature all the more extraordinary. Despite his imposing size, Tommy has a gentle disposition — he enjoys cuddles and treats, has a mellow temperament, and is especially fond of children.
Loved and cherished by his humans, Tommy is a gentle giant who enjoys cuddles and treats. He will gently put his head down so children can reach him — a testament to the extraordinary bond between Tommy and his owners. The World Records Authority is proud to officially recognise Tommy’s remarkable stature in the WRA annals of record holders.
